new york today. boy, they don't need that. bonnie schneider with a look at the forecast. good morning. >> good morning. the storm we've been talking about is working its way to extreme northeastern new england. it is hitting canada hard. quebec is getting more snow. i mentioned yesterday that cold air would come in behind the system. it sure has. scranton at 26. below freezing in new york city at 31. just to let you know, it's not over yet. a brand new storm system set up these winter weather advisories for pennsylvania and into new york, washington, d.c., and the mountains of virginia. you can see also ohio slammed again after so much snow from the first system. so the way it's going to play out, saturday into sunday, this system is likely going to bring heavier snow to areas of northern pennsylvania in terms of snowfall totals. it's not going to be as big of a snowmaker or a blizzard maker from what we saw last time, but it will produce strong snowfall through central connecticut and rhode island. new england, you know winters can be long. winter is not officially -- is officially h

and president responded. anna is live at staten island, new york. >> hello. together living with the challenges is find as way to help kids just be kids even though their lives have been turned upside-down. they are just wrapping up carnival day and they are calling it camp sandy. a bus driver picked up 30 kids from a shelter here and brought them to gate way academy. they share their stories and sing along and zumba and yoga to burn off energy. they can take non-perishables. it's a traveling camp that serves about 500 kids in the last two years. this camp in particular is tough. >> when we leave it's definitely hard because we are going back to our tv and our couch. this is a production like physically and emotionally. this is one of the hardest camps i've ever done. to be able to maneuver through a disaster and all the organizations on site. it's definitely a challenge. they we hope we can do this every weekend while here. >> although fema has 36 disaster recovery centers set up, many parents are frustrated with the federal government and express concerns to politicians at a new york townhall

on in this show. fiebl funeral services for a firefighter shot and killed in upstate new york on christmas eve have just gotten underway. thousands of firefighterrings filed in on friday and saturday to pay their respe memorial services for fallen brothers. the two men were shot and killed on christmas eve, responding to a house fire, the owner had set intentionally. the suspect, william spangler, then killed himself. the second firefighter's funeral is tomorrow. a $60 billion emergency aid package for victims of super storm sandy has made it through the senate, but relief is not on the way. the pleasure has to get through the house, where its fate is far from certain. we have more from washington. >> there are a couple of reasons why the sandy aid legislation may languish in the house. number 1, the amount of the bill, and number 2, the calendar. some conservative house lawmakers are unconferring with the $60.4 billion package passed by the senate. with the tight economic situation, they may want to scale it back or include in spending cuts to offset the cost of the legislation. here's one g.
